Why not join the team of dedicated organizers and volunteers who make the Sonoma County Book Festival happen seamlessly year after year? So much needs to be done—before, during and after the event—to make the Festival run smoothly and give the community a wonderful time.

We have a role for everyone and anyone to play, from fundraising, stuffing envelopes, planning programs, inviting authors, and spreading the word in the community to helping out on the day of the festival. Festival-day volunteers help exhibitors set up, count attendees, assist festival organizers and authors, provide festival information for attendees, and contribute to a variety of other tasks. We will do our best to match you up with your preferred job. Whatever level of involvement you can offer will help to make this year's festival the best ever.

The Book Festival offers a perfect volunteer opportunity for individuals and especially for groups such as book groups, clubs, school organizations, and even businesses. Tell your friends. Join the festival fun and know that you’re a part of this important gift to our community.

Volunteers Needed for
Sonoma County Book Festival: 
Saturday, September 20, 2008

1. Hosts for Information Booth (2 hour shifts, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm)
   Welcome people; hand out programs; provide information on literary events and on-square exhibitors; give directions. Last shift will help with break-down of booths. Previous attendance at the Sonoma County Book Festival would be helpful. We will have one short training before the festival—date TBA.

2. Hosts for Literary Events at Various Venues (2 hour shifts, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm)
   Greeters; monitor time for presentations; audience logistics—oversight of room and program; Previous attendance at the Sonoma County Book Festival would be helpful. We will have one short training before the festival—date TBA.

3. Roving Ambassadors (2 hour shifts, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm)
   Hand out programs; serve as temporary relief to exhibitors; give directions; sell lottery tickets (optional). Last shift will help with breakdown of booths. We will have one short training before the festival—date TBA.

4. Raffle Table (2-hour shifts, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm)
   Sell raffle tickets; describe prizes; draw winners.

5. Set-up Workers (8:00 am - 10:30 am)
   Help exhibitors set up booths, tables, and chairs.
